Final Update to the 2024 Lunar New Year Fundraising Campaign

For Catholics, the season of Lent has begun. We are asked to do three things: pray, fast, and give alms. Prayers connect us to God. Fasting helps to 'cleanse' ourselves, to give up bad habits and become holier. Giving alms extend our care and love of others.

Thank you to the sacrifices of many Sisters of the Congregation of the Lovers of the Holy Cross, thank you to the Reverend Fathers of the many Churches, thank you to the many lay persons who donated so much of their time and treasures, and thank you to the generosity of all of you, in total $58,434 were raised.

Of the $58,434, a total of $46,928 has been spent. The expenditures are described below (and have been written in Vietnamese as they are taken directly from the Thank You letters that Be His Helper has sent to the Reverend Fathers and others who helped with this fundraising campaign).

• $11,950 trả tiền lương cho các em câm điếc, mái ấm, và những bà mẹ đơn thân và khuyết tật và tiền hàng + cước phí.

• $5,000 tăng thêm nguồn vốn đầu tư cho quán nước của các em câm điếc.

• $2,328 Các bình hoa + tiền quà chi tại Mỹ của tháng 1/2024 (và $1,198 chi ở tháng 12/2024).

• $2,000 chi cho Đan Viện để trồng cây giống táo tàu.

• $8,600 quà Tết cho 427 hộ gia đình nghèo từ Miền Nam, lên Cao Nguyên, Lâm Đồng, Quãng Ngãi, Quảng Bình, Đảo Phú Quý.

• $10,450 cho những hộ gia đình nuôi gà, vay vốn, và 12 bệnh nhân liệt giường nhận thêm phần thức ăn hàng tháng.

• $2,400 phụ tiền xăng $200/1 tháng cho xe cứu thương của các Cha Tu Đoàn Bác Ái.

• $700 bảo hiểm y tế/1 năm cho 4 bệnh nhân chạy thận và 1 gia đình khó khăn.

• $500 xe đạp cho các em dân tộc Churu va f K’ho.

• $3,000 trợ giúp cho 250 em mồ côi của Mái ấm Thiên Ân do các Sơ Dòng Thánh Paulo.

The amount remaining from the campaign is $11,506 ($58,434 - $46,928). This amount will be used to support future fundraising efforts.
